Overview:


 

At Nationwide Children’s Hospital, the Utilization Management Director plays a pivotal role in ensuring that every child has seamless access to care. In this role, you will develop high‑performing teams and cultivate emerging leaders. You will lead key Population Health initiatives to improve care for newborns and their families, co‑chair a high‑visibility UM steering committee alongside a physician dyad partner, and guide the inpatient discharge planning team through expansion to a new hospital tower. As a key partner to interdisciplinary teams, this leadership position shapes system‑wide strategies that optimize care delivery, enhance care coordination, and strengthen transitions from hospital to home.

Provides expert clinical guidance and ensures delivery of quality/safety/service initiatives across assigned departments and services, for nursing and allied health personnel.

Essential Functions:
  • Leads nursing and allied health personnel in strategic directives and care activities to ensure the assigned department achieves best outcomes in patient and family care.
  • Leads multi and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement evidence-based clinical programs, policies, and standards for assigned department.
  • Develops and implements continuous performance improvement initiatives focused on improving the management and experience for patients, families and staff in the assigned department.
  • Represents the assigned department nursing, allied health personnel and perspective in organizational discussions and meetings.

Education Requirement:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, required.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Health Administration, or related field, required.

Licensure Requirement:

Registered Nurse in State of Ohio, required.
