Job Summary:
We are looking for a full time Parts Manager for our Commack, NY location. The key responsibilities of the Parts Manager are the accomplishment of excellent Customer Sales and Satisfaction, Inventory Management, and Profitability. Other important functions include performance tracking, team building & management, support of staff and customer base. The Parts Manager also collaborates with Branch Service Managers to deliver the best possible Customer Experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and forecasting
  • Achievement of sales objectives
  • Responsible for hiring and supervising other department employees’, setting work schedules, establishing goals and expectations, and conducting performance reviews or evaluations
  • Responsible for managing inventory based on demand and cost targets. Must be able to maintain stock at a level that enables internal service department to complete their work without delay. However, they must also avoid the costs of carrying excessive inventory. Must have knowledge of stock-control systems so that they can effectively record and analyze the movement of parts. They must also maintain accurate records of parts replaced under warranty and details of faulty parts
  • Achievement of customer satisfaction objectives
  • Explore all options to keep the customer operating, including OEM, aftermarket, and non-traditional supply lines
  • Increase growth and customer retention
  • Ensure stocking levels are updated, consistent with customer demand, in both warehouse and mobile inventory locations
  • Ensure branch maximizes vendor return policy allowances
  • Manage Annual Inventory & Cycle Counts
  • Foster teamwork with Parts and all other departments
  • Provide technical assistance to Parts department associates
  • Work with Service department management to ensure a timely turnaround of parts demand and timely resolution to issues that arise between departments
  • Conduct meetings with Parts department associates to discuss activities and issues of mutual interest; develop strategies for a more efficient operation
  • Participate in the creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) manual and processes for Summit Parts operations
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the Employee Handbook
  • Adhere to and enforce company policies and procedures
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Education and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in parts management processes
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience supervisory experience
  • Experience in Material Handling/Parts/Service Management or similar fields (highly preferred)
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills with staff, vendors, and customers
  • Problem solver able to multitask
  • Ability to work across departments and with various vendors
  • Proficient in Inventory Management Systems and Software
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Bi-Lingual (Spanish) Preferred
  • Driver’s License is required
