JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Overview

The Master Data Steward will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of critical business data across the organization at Offen Petroleum. This role requires basic proficiency in understanding of data and query/reporting tools. The Master Data Steward will work closely with various departments to establish and maintain data governance processes and to support data quality initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Data Governance: Develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Data Quality Management: Monitor and improve the quality of master data by identifying data quality issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Data Maintenance: Oversee the creation, maintenance, and deletion of master data records in accordance with established data standards and business rules.
  • Data Audits: Conduct regular data audits to ensure compliance with data governance policies and to identify areas for improvement.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users on data governance practices and data management tools.
  • Reporting: Generate reports and provide insights into data quality metrics and trends for senior management.
  • Other duties, as assigned.? (Including responsibilities of the Master Data Inbox)

Required/Preferred Education & Experience

  • High school diploma required. Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferable. 
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience preferred in data management or a similar role is advantageous.
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and drive to learn.
  • Familiarity with system data structures, data modeling, and data relationships is preferable.
  • Experience with data management tools and technologies is a plus.
  • Demonstrated basic data analyst proficiency understanding of data concepts, query/reporting tools, and Microsoft office applications. Understand of master data quality tools is a plus.
  • High level of written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, integrity, and accountability. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple requests and manage ongoing projects; adaptable at taking on new projects as needed.
  • Ability to work extended hours (some evenings and weekends, when necessary) and achieve results in a deadline driven environment.
  • Finance and accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite software preferred.

Working Environment and Physical Demands (Office Positions)

This position operates in a fast-paced, professional environment, with travel. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. While performing duties of this job, you will be regularly required to talk, read, hear, sit, stand, bend as necessary, and use your hands to type; may regularly require the ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
