The Senior Buyer is responsible for the coordination and negotiation of the key commodity items they are responsible to procure. The Senior Buyer is responsible for professional and timely communication with internal and external customers. Communications across divisional lines and with key customers is a critical element in this position. The Senior Buyer is responsible for order fill, inventory levels and flow, correct product PO cost, and achieving the company goals in these areas. The Senior Buyer supports activities, related strategies, and planning to achieve objectives involving purchasing, vendor payment, storage of product, communicating market conditions, forward buys, taking market gains where appropriate, and communicating with logistics. This position requires an individual capable of multitasking and project prioritization. This position requires highly detailed and precise execution.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Meet established goals for Order Fill measured by daily lost sales within the Branches.
  • Meet established Inventory level requirements measured by percent of inventory.
  • Coordinates SKU count measured by total SKU’s, aged inventory, and slow-moving items within the Branches or Toll Roast Inventory.
  • Manage cost of goods through vendor management, opportunity buys, forward buys, commodity purchases,
  • and cost of freight.
  • Organizes and maintains file system and files correspondence and other records.
  • Makes copies of correspondence or other printed materials.
  • Prepares outgoing mail and correspondence, including e-mail and faxes.
  • Various record keeping.
  • Daily Inventory, review and verify
  • Aim to achieve defined Service Level Goals.
  • Support raw beef purchases
  • Issues PO accordingly to all external vendors and continually update PO's until completion with accurate pricing
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email)
  • Operation office equipment
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Experience in Software- DAX and Adage is preferred.
  • Must have and be able to communicate commodities background related to category and position available.
  • Strong team player

 

Pay for the role is weighted on several factors and base salary is expected to start $115-135K with annual bonus potential.
