As the Environmental, Health and Safety Manager you will oversee the development, management, and implementation of the EHS program and ensure its regulatory compliance as mandated by local, state, and federal agencies with consideration toward the objectives and overall mission of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide company with solutions to difficult compliance issues through working with project leads, research of subject matter, and related experience.
- Havea working knowledge of 29 CFR 1910 General Industry and 29 CFR 1926 Construction Standards enforced by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
- Work with different functional departments in conducting safety management activities that involve workplace hazards and mitigation controls.
- Conduct activity hazard (AHA) analysis to identify hazards and implement desired controls companywide.
- Document Safety inspections and work with corresponding departments to trouble shoot and solve problems relating to site operations and equipment.
- Have regular interaction with all levels of the organization to ensure compliance with safe work practices and risk mitigation activities.
- Assist in incident and accident investigations and the root cause and corrective action process.
- Provide regular safety briefings that target safety related concerns to heighten safety awareness.
- Develop and provide safety-related training directed through an applicable regulatory standard (i.e.OSHA, NFPA).
- Ensure to develop employees through coaching and mentoring, resulting in employees reaching their highest and best potential.
- All other duties are assigned.
Required Skills and Attributes:
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to create companywide safety programs required by specific OSHA standards.
- Ability to present safety related topics to target audiences.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, NFPA, Life Safety Codes, ACGIH guidance, and applicable industry safety standards.
- Ability to work well with other professionals and company staff to reach company safety, productivity, and environmental goals.
- Willingness to go to safety related training to enhance personal safety working knowledge and performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, but on-the-job work experience performing safety or fire protection inspections acceptable.
- Experience in emergency response operations.
- EMT certification is highly desired.
- Strong sense of safety culture.
- Willing to study for a certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) in the next five years.
Physical Requirements:
- This position may require the ability to perform tasks that involve sitting, standing, walking, lifting 50+lbs, bending, stooping, computer work, and other physical activities. Candidates should be able to meet these physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.
