Job DetailsJob Location: LAX - Compton, CA 90221Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: NoneSalary Range: $28.00 - $30.00 HourlyTravel Percentage: Road WarriorJob Summary: Position Type: Full-Time Pay Range: $28.00+ DOE Qualifications: Hazmat Endorsement Preferred Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 11:30 PM to 10:30 AM This position is a Graveyard Driving Position.  Our Los Angeles drivers typically do a half-turn along I-5 with a southbound driver out of either San Francisco or Sacramento and return home every morning. This position may occasionally involve one-way trips to Reno or Sacramento with high priority freight, returning the next night. Our Class A Line Haul Drivers support the operations department in the performance of daily activities by transferring time-sensitive freight overnight between our stations.  You'll be joining a local team of over 30 people all committed to providing the best service possible to our customers who trust Cal Sierra to move their shipments on-time throughout the greater Los Angeles area and beyond. California Sierra Express has been serving the air freight logistics industry for over 35 years. We operate six freight terminals in CA and one in Reno, NV.  We're an overnight carrier serving international and domestic freight forwarders as a final mile Pick-Up and Delivery agent for shipments that travel around the globe. Practice defensive driving principles and follow all company safety policies. Attention to detail and strong security awareness at all times. Comply with all laws and regulations relating to driving, transporting and handling of freight including those issued by but limited to The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Department of Transportation (DOT). Comply with truck and trailer security requirements as outlined by the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA). Comply with safe work practices as required by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) Comply with federal drug and alcohol regulations. Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Must be at least 23 years of age. Minimum of two (2) years commercial driving experience. Clean DMV record (no serious moving violations in the past 5 years) Valid DOT Medical Examination Card. Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and TSA background check. Knowledge of DOT, FMSCA, federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations. Hazardous materials (HAZMAT) certification, preferred. Experience driving in adverse weather conditions, mountains, and chaining installation. Ability to effectively communicate in English; verbally and in writing.
