Schedule: Full Time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Salary Range: $65,000 – $87,000, negotiable based on experience


The Merrimack is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and collaborative Credit Analyst to support our commercial lending and credit administration teams. This position is well suited for a candidate with established credit analysis experience who is ready to contribute in a mid- to senior-level capacity in a community banking environment.


In this role, you will prepare comprehensive credit analyses, evaluate financial performance and repayment capacity, identify credit risks, and support sound lending decisions for new and existing commercial relationships.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare clear, thorough credit analyses for commercial loan requests, renewals, annual reviews, and relationship reviews
  • Evaluate financial statements, tax returns, projections, collateral, guarantor support, repayment capacity, and overall credit risk
  • Identify key risks, strengths, trends, covenant concerns, loan exceptions, and other factors affecting credit quality
  • Provide underwriting support, credit recommendations, and portfolio insight to lenders and credit management
  • Assist with collateral evaluations, appraisal reviews, and related documentation as needed
  • Support portfolio monitoring through Watch List reports, Watch Asset reports, loan loss reserve analysis, annual reviews, and other credit-related reporting
  • Track financial statements, file commentaries, annual reviews, and credit follow-up items to help maintain timely and accurate credit files
  • Communicate regularly with lenders, credit management, and internal partners regarding priorities, deadlines, and work in progress


What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred
  • Typically three or more years of experience in commercial credit, commercial lending, portfolio management, finance, accounting, or a related banking field
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze business and personal financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, collateral, and repayment sources
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present credit information clearly and professionally
  • Experience with loan origination systems, including nCino
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard office software applications
  • Ability to prepare spreadsheets, reports, and ad hoc analyses to support credit decisions and portfolio management
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a changing environment
  • Ability to collaborate across departments while maintaining professionalism, sound judgment, and confidentiality
