Job purpose
Responsible for assisting in a variety of warehouse duties, including scheduling shipments, back-up FTZ administration, warehouse administration, shipping and receiving, unloading and loading trucks, fulfilling orders, and warehouse cleanliness.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assist with the scheduling of container deliveries with a broker.
- Route outbound shipments as needed
- Validate daily receiving records provided by the receiving department
- Assist the receiving department with incoming containers by preparing pallet tags in advance of arrival
- Act as the primary backup for FTZ administrator (covering all day-to-day FTZ activities)
- Verify and prepare all logistics payment requisitions
- Act as the primary backup for Receiving. Â
- Maintain shipping files.
- Handle routine correspondence with freight carriers, relative to damages for destruction, loss, and delays, according to established forms or detailed instructions.
- May load trucks with forklifts for shipments.
- Investigate and adjust inventory levels as necessaryÂ
- Act as a member of the physical inventory team
- Other assignments as necessary.
Qualifications
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be forklift certified
- At least one year of sit-down, stand-up reach, and clamp truck  forklift experienceÂ
- Previous warehouse experience preferred
- Handheld scanner experience preferred
- Knowledge of overall warehouse operations, including following both written and verbal instructions, housekeeping standards, and warehouse policies.
- WMS experience with Epicor preferred
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving software programming such as the UPS, FedEx, etc. systems
- Excellent clerical skills
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands
- Ability to work in an office setting, and spend primary working hours at a desk using a computer and other office equipment such as printers, copiers, postage machines, etc.
- Be able to lift a minimum of 10 pounds.
- Ability to go to the production floor and work with factory and warehouse employees.
Safety Requirements
Ability to wear required PPE if in any manufacturing area.
