Job Description:

The Director of Nursing will provide highly visible leadership and is responsible for highly effective (clinical) nursing operations 24/7 that promotes safety, well-being, resiliency and recovery of all patients at the Behavioral Health Center (BHC). The Director of Nursing will foster a culture which values and demonstrates clinical excellence, staff empowerment, and continuing professional development. Responsible for the delivery of patient care that promotes safety and well-being of all patients in the assignment Department(s) on a twenty-four hour basis. Plans, directs, coordinates and evaluates the overall clinical nursing practice and administrative activities, including fiscal, material and human resources management. Participates in the development and implementation of hospital policies and procedures. Maintains open communication with all staff to promote improvement in performance. This position requires a sound knowledge of nursing practice, Joint Commission Hospital Accreditation Standards, California’s Title 22, and exceptional leadership abilities.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree - Accredited School of Nursing - Required

  • Master's Degree - Accredited School of Nursing or related Healthcare field - Preferred

Experience:

  • 3 years Nursing Management - Progressive Leadership Responsibility

  • Healthcare - Acute Care - Required

Certifications/Licensures:

  • RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Nursing - Required

  • BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association - Required

  • Specialty Certifications - ANCC American Nurses Credentialing Center - Required within 2 years of hire and Must be included in the list of allowed certifications by ANCC for Magnet demographics

  • CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training- Required within 30-days of hire and renewal annually or within 30-days of return from a leave of absence

Pay Range:

$204,060.00 - $306,090.00Salary

Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.
Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area.

Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word ‘exempt’ on it.
