The Maintenance Lead is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role leads the preventive maintenance program, coordinates maintenance activities, manages work orders and contractors, and drives continuous improvement initiatives. Working closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Safety, the Maintenance Lead helps maximize equipment uptime and supports operational excellence.

 

What You'll Do

  • Manage the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program and maintenance work order system.
  • Coordinate equipment repairs and prioritize maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
  • Drive equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with Production, Engineering, and Quality to resolve equipment issues.
  • Coordinate outside contractors and facility maintenance services.
  • Ensure compliance with inspections, permits, certifications, and safety requirements.
  • Support automation, equipment upgrades, and capital improvement projects.
  • Utilize Root Cause Analysis and PDCA to resolve recurring equipment issues.
  • Track maintenance KPIs, including MTBF, MTTR, PM completion, work order performance, and equipment downtime.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including 5S and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and support internal and external audits.
  • Promote a safe work environment and compliance with company policies.

 

What You'll Bring

 

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and work order systems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

 

What We Value

  • Technical degree or trade certification.
  • Experience repairing and maintaining machining centers, or other industrial manufacturing equipment preferred.
  • Experience with CMMS software.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, automation, or industrial controls.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Root Cause Analysis, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong ownership and accountability.
