Job Summary

The Welder position will perform diversified hand welding on a wide variety of complex assemblies and structures using welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machined parts and trenching and shoring equipment. This position is a safety sensitive role that requires compliance with the company's drug and alcohol policy and adherence to all safety regulations and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for the job. Plans details of working procedure, and tool and material requirements.
Fabricates equipment by cutting, burning, and welding various metals.
Repairs equipment by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment.
Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded. Sets up, assembles, and tacks weld parts.
Repairs worn or defective surfaces.
Uses burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut material to size and shape.
Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.
May be assigned to dismantle or cut up obsolete equipment, setting aside parts for scrap dealers.
Completes other tasks as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Must sign acknowledgment of reading and understanding the Company’s safety policy and adhere to all Company safety rules and regulations.

Knowledge and Skills

Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be willing to work hours as required.
Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or completion of Company training program to the satisfaction of the Supervisor.
Strong attention to detail, precision, and control.
Emotional Intelligence, collaboration and communication skills
Quick thinker and ability to prioritize safety first
Organization and project management methodology

Qualifications

Minimum (2) Two years welding experience
Ability to obtain forklift certification as required
Must have a valid driver’s license.
