Job DetailsJob Location: Valdese, NC 28612 Valdese Weavers is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company and has been in business for over 100 years. As one of the largest woven textile mills in the world, Valdese Weavers designs and manufactures residential and contract-grade fabrics for furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and large retailers. 2nd and 3rd shift do receive a shift premium of $1.00. We offer a $50 attendance bonus for every two weeks in which you miss no time, not including our shutdown periods. This bonus would provide an extra $0.62 to your hourly rate.   Job Summary: Responsible for overall efficiency and effectiveness of the shift. Responsible for directing the workforce to keep machines in operation. Assist with scheduling in the department as needed. Assure quality by enforcing and maintaining ISO-9000 work instructions and standards. Must operate and maintain extrusion machinery. Must meet deadlines and production quotas. Assure that work instructions are updated annually and when there are changes to processes and/or equipment.   Tools and Equipment used: General office equipment and supplies, including computer. RF Gun, computer, P.I.T.   Essential Functions: Perform the following duties according to ISO 9001 work instructions and standards: Monitor and control attendance of the department to ensure attainment of company goals as needed. Stage workflow to achieve production and efficiency goals set by the Company. Maintain plant records and report to management, personnel and payroll as required. Maintain attendance, inventory, production, and quality reports. Provide information to Payroll, Human Resources, and other management as requested. Maintain knowledge of how to operate and maintain novelty machines. Assist and direct the delivery of yarn to proper machines. Perform other duties as assigned and work scheduled overtime. Work closely with other supervisors to meet company and plant goals. Maintain personal attendance practices to meet established company goals, must stay below 5 points. Maintain personal work habits, which meet the demands and stresses of the job. Operate multiple Taslan machines to meet production quotas.   Safety: Assure that associates are trained to correctly perform their job functions. Continually audit safety effectiveness within the department. Actively participate in safety meetings. Enforce all safety rules. Hearing protection is required in high noise areas, safety belt/harness required when using P.I.T. equipment. Follow the 5 S Standards as described in the associate handbook. QualificationsQualifications: Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others. High school diploma or GED is required. Computer knowledge is required. Must not be restricted from operating a motorized vehicle. Knowledge of textile manufacturing process. Basic reading, writing, and math skills Must be able to discern colors and pass a color blindness test. Must be cross trained and complete the training plan to perform the following positions:             Extrusion
