Job DetailsJob Location: Valdese, NC 28612Job Shift: 1st Valdese Weavers is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company and has been in business for over 100 years. As one of the largest woven textile mills in the world, Valdese Weavers designs and manufactures residential and contract-grade fabrics for furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and large retailers. 2nd and 3rd shift do receive a shift premium of $1.00. We offer a $50 attendance bonus for every two weeks in which you miss no time, not including our shutdown periods. This bonus would provide an extra $0.62 to your hourly rate. Job Summary: To assist winders in achieving higher production. Tools and Equipment used: Clippers, utility knife, knotter, P.I.T equipment. Essential Functions: Perform the following duties according to ISO 9001 work instructions and standards: Assist with waste collection of cones, cardboard, and trash from the Winding Department. Meet deadlines and production quotas. Move yarn from the Dye Department Unloading Area to Winding Staging. Dispatch yarn to specific winding machines based on logistics/planning priorities. Assign approved quality control package with released dye lot and print cone labels. Print cone labels for all approved yarn lots and place at designated scheduled winder. Audit the "clip waste" process for consistency, remove full waste boxes, replace empty boxes, and load waste to the assigned trailer. Manage empty bin replenishment to maintain winder productivity. Process identified yarns for quality "yarn tabs" through the winding process and place at R & D area. Provide timeline with respect to complete priority yarn dye lot required by Logistics to verify customer delivery. Work scheduled overtime. Maintain personal attendance practices to meet established company goals. Maintain personal work habits, which meet the demands and stresses of the job. Perform other duties as assigned. Safety: Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers. Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately. Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards. Safety belt, dust mask (optional), eye protection (around Pomolube®), and ear plugs in high noise areas. Follow the 5 S Standards. QualificationsQualifications: Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others. Ability to discern colors and shades. Ability to operate powered equipment.
