Position Summary:
Inspects containers and related materials to ensure they meet established quality standards and specifications. Identifies defects, damage, contamination, or other issues that could impact product quality or production efficiency. Works closely with production and quality personnel to communicate issues and ensure only acceptable containers are used.
Position Responsibilities
- Inspect containers for damage, defects, cleanliness, and overall condition prior to use.
- Verify containers meet established quality standards and specifications.
- Check containers for cracks, breaks, dents, warping, contamination, or other defects.
- Separate and identify unacceptable containers to prevent them from entering the production process.
- Perform visual inspections and basic measurements as required.
- Follow established inspection procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, rejected containers, and quality issues.
- Communicate recurring or significant quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor or Quality team member.
- Monitor container condition throughout the production process and report issues as they are identified.
- Assist with investigating the cause of recurring container defects or quality concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe inspection area.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Work cooperatively with production, warehouse, and quality personnel to support overall product quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing, quality inspection, warehouse, or production experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify visual defects.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to accurately complete inspection records and documentation.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining established quality standards.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, and handle containers and materials.
- Ability to lift and move containers or materials as required by the position.
- Ability to perform repetitive inspection tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
