Position Summary:Â
The CNC Operator 2 performs intermediate CNC operations and supports production through machine setup tasks, offset adjustments, and limited program edits. This role requires greater technical knowledge, increased quality responsibility, and the ability to troubleshoot basic machining issues.
Position Responsibilities:
- Load materials and set up CNC machines for production runsÂ
- Set offsets and make simple CNC program edits as requiredÂ
- Identify tooling, router bit types, and sizesÂ
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructionsÂ
- Use calipers and measuring tools to verify part accuracyÂ
- Monitor work‑in‑process and track live production ordersÂ
- Identify and correct out‑of‑tolerance conditions within scopeÂ
- Communicate production or quality issues to supervisionÂ
- Maintain equipment and work area cleanlinessÂ
- Follow all safety and LOTO procedures
Essential Skills and Experience:
- CNC operator training or equivalent hands‑on experienceÂ
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawingsÂ
- Working knowledge of CNC controls and offsetsÂ
- Basic understanding of G‑code and machining processesÂ
- Strong organizational and quality‑focused mindset
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Frequently lift 35–50 lbs; team lift required for heavier itemsÂ
- Continuous standing, walking, bending, and material handlingÂ
- Repetitive hand use for part loading and inspectionÂ
- Indoor manufacturing environment with controlled airflowÂ
- Requires close visual acuity for precision machining
