Position Summary:Â
The Machine Operator 2 is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring a variety of woodworking machines to produce quality wood components according to production specifications. This role requires intermediate machine operation skills, the ability to make machine adjustments, and consistent attention to safety and quality standards.
Machine Operator 2 roles involve operating more complex machinery and processes than entry‑level positions and may require limited troubleshooting and setup adjustments.

Position Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate assigned woodworking machinery safely and efficientlyÂ
- Monitor machine operation and make adjustments to maintain quality and production standardsÂ
- Inspect parts for defects, accuracy, and conformance to specificationsÂ
- Perform trial runs and adjust tooling or machine settings as requiredÂ
- Load, unload, and position materials and parts during productionÂ
- Select, install, and adjust saw blades, cutter heads, boring bits, and tooling using hand toolsÂ
- Follow work instructions, production schedules, and quality guidelinesÂ
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaÂ
- Identify equipment issues and report concerns to the supervisorÂ
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Working knowledge of woodworking machinery and production processesÂ
- Ability to read gauges, dials, and indicators to ensure proper machine operationÂ
- Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skillsÂ
- Attention to detail and quality controlÂ
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructionsÂ
- Effective communication skills
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Frequently lift up to 50 lbs; team lift required for heavier itemsÂ
- Continuous standing, walking, bending, stooping, and handling of materialsÂ
- Repetitive use of hands and armsÂ
- Push / Pull: Frequently moving materials on/off machines or workstations.Â
- Work environment includes exposure to dust and machine noiseÂ
- Requires close visual acuity for inspecting parts and machine operation
