Position Summary:

The Dry Brusher is responsible for cleaning, preparing, and enhancing upholstered furniture during the finishing process. This role uses specialized brushing techniques to remove loose fibers, dust, debris, and excess finishing materials while ensuring each piece meets Vanguard Furniture's high standards for appearance and quality. The Dry Brusher plays a key role in delivering a premium, customer-ready product.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Brush upholstered furniture to remove lint, dust, loose fibers, and other surface debris. 
  • Inspect furniture for cosmetic defects, stains, loose threads, or quality concerns during the brushing process. 
  • Trim excess threads, fabric, or loose materials as needed to improve appearance. 
  • Ensure all visible surfaces are clean and presentation-ready before moving to the next production stage. 
  • Report quality concerns or product defects to the appropriate supervisor or quality team. 
  • Handle furniture carefully to prevent damage to fabrics, leather, wood finishes, and decorative details. 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. 
  • Follow all quality standards, production procedures, and safety guidelines. 
  • Meet established productivity and quality expectations. 
  • Assist with other finishing department duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 
  • Previous manufacturing or furniture experience is preferred but not required. 
  • Ability to recognize quality defects and maintain attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to producing high-quality products. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent attention to detail. 
  • Ability to identify cosmetic imperfections. 
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. 
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. 
  • Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and stooping. 
  • Frequent use of hands and arms for brushing, trimming, and inspecting furniture. 
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds with or without assistance. 
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures. 
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
