Position Responsibilities: - Safely operate a forklift to transport lumber, materials, and finished goods throughout the facility
- Load, unload, and stage materials for production and shipping
- Supply rough mill machines with appropriate materials to maintain continuous production flow
- Assist rough mill operators with machine setup, feeding, and basic operation
- Perform visual inspections of materials to identify defects or inconsistencies
- Remove scrap, waste, and excess materials from work areas
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace
- Conduct daily forklift inspections and report maintenance issues
- Support team members and supervisors with additional tasks as needed

Essential Skills and Experience: - Previous forklift experience required (certification preferred)
- Experience in a manufacturing or woodworking environment is a plus
- Basic understanding of rough mill operations or willingness to learn
- Ability to read work orders and follow instructions
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Physical demands and work environment: | - Lift / Carry: lift up to 50 lbs.; team lift greater weights. Most of the weight is moved by some type of equipment: hand truck, forklift, and team lift.
- Manual Dexterity: The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or maneuver objects.
- Standing/Walking: Must be able to stand and walk 8+ hours.
- Reach / Handle: Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
- Crouch/Bend/Stoop/Kneel/Crawl: Frequently required when moving a furniture item.
- Push / Pull: Frequently moving furniture items on/off pack conveyor or tables or sliding across floor.
- Environment: Indoors
- Automation: Operating the forklift, helping with machine usage
- Near Vision: The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- Static Strength: The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
- Trunk Strength: The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing.
