Position Summar

Position Summary: 

The Machine Operator 3 is an advanced machine operator responsible for operating, setting up, and adjusting complex woodworking equipment and processes. This role requires a high level of skill, independence, and technical understanding of woodworking machinery, tooling, and production methods.

Machine Operator 3 positions may support specialized operations, advanced machinery, or cross‑functional machine room activities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and adjust advanced woodworking machinery and equipment 
  • Interpret work orders, drawings, and specifications to produce accurate parts 
  • Perform machine setups, tooling changes, and operational adjustments 
  • Inspect finished components to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency 
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary corrections within scope 
  • Support specialized or cross‑functional machine room operations as needed 
  • Maintain workflow efficiency and assist with training or guidance of lower‑level operators when appropriate 
  • Maintain equipment, tooling, and work areas in clean and safe condition 
  • Follow all safety requirements, quality standards, and company policies 
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production needs or issues


Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Advanced knowledge of woodworking machinery and manufacturing processes 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving ability 
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, layouts, and specifications 
  • High attention to detail and quality craftsmanship 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision 
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills


Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Frequently lift up to 50 lbs; team lift required for heavier items 
  • Continuous standing, walking, bending, stooping, and material handling 
  • Repetitive hand and arm movements 
  • Exposure to dust and machine noise in a manufacturing environment 
  • Requires close visual acuity for precision work
