Position Summary:Â
The Machine Operator 3 is an advanced machine operator responsible for operating, setting up, and adjusting complex woodworking equipment and processes. This role requires a high level of skill, independence, and technical understanding of woodworking machinery, tooling, and production methods.
Machine Operator 3 positions may support specialized operations, advanced machinery, or cross‑functional machine room activities.

Position Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and adjust advanced woodworking machinery and equipmentÂ
- Interpret work orders, drawings, and specifications to produce accurate partsÂ
- Perform machine setups, tooling changes, and operational adjustmentsÂ
- Inspect finished components to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistencyÂ
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary corrections within scopeÂ
- Support specialized or cross‑functional machine room operations as neededÂ
- Maintain workflow efficiency and assist with training or guidance of lower‑level operators when appropriateÂ
- Maintain equipment, tooling, and work areas in clean and safe conditionÂ
- Follow all safety requirements, quality standards, and company policiesÂ
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production needs or issues
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Advanced knowledge of woodworking machinery and manufacturing processesÂ
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving abilityÂ
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, layouts, and specificationsÂ
- High attention to detail and quality craftsmanshipÂ
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervisionÂ
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Frequently lift up to 50 lbs; team lift required for heavier itemsÂ
- Continuous standing, walking, bending, stooping, and material handlingÂ
- Repetitive hand and arm movementsÂ
- Exposure to dust and machine noise in a manufacturing environmentÂ
- Requires close visual acuity for precision work
