Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: CONROE, TX 77301Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $27.00 - $32.00 HourlyJob Shift: AnyThe CNC Machinist position uses blueprints, sketches, or plans and manufacturing files to produce precision parts. The position will set up different types of CNC equipment for work to accomplish goals with accuracy while also maintaining high production rates.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities Study work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters and interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T) to plan machining Program mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points, set tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches, calculate requirements with basic math, geometry, and trigonometry and prove part programs Install and adjust three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers, indicate vices, and tram heads to set up mills and lathes Lift stock into position by loading the feed mechanism Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces, adhering to standards Supervise machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result Ensure to detect malfunctions, troubleshoot processes, adjust and reprogram controls, sharpen and replace worn tools Adhere to quality assurance procedures and processes Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements by following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions and calling for repairs as needed Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs Document actions by completing production and quality logs QualificationsQualifications and Education Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education in a job-shop setting Functional and Technical Skills Demonstrated ability to read and understand mechanical drawings required Demonstrated understanding of basic math skills required Ability to use a variety of hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring instruments (i.e. micrometers, veneers, and calipers) as required Must be able to lift 30 pounds occasionally
