Position Summary

Texas Tissue Converting is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support our 24/7 manufacturing operation. This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and performing preventive maintenance on automated manufacturing equipment.

The Maintenance Technician will work with conveyors, packaging equipment, paper rewinders, liquid tank systems, pumps, rollers, bearings, motors, and other industrial machinery. This position may also assist with relocating machinery, installing equipment, and ensuring newly installed equipment operates safely and properly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and routine equipment inspections.
  • Identify potential equipment failures and make repairs before they affect production.
  • Repair motors, pumps, rollers, bearings, conveyors, power-transmission components, and packaging equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, mechanical schematics, technical manuals, and equipment specifications.
  • Use gauges, micrometers, and other diagnostic and precision-measuring tools.
  • Assist with machinery relocation, installation, alignment, testing, and start-up.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and maintenance emergencies.
  • Complete and manage work orders accurately using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts usage, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Communicate equipment conditions, completed repairs, and unresolved issues to supervisors and production personnel.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, and other departments.
  • Maintain an organized and safe work area.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical components, circuits, controls, and motors.
  • Experience repairing industrial machinery according to electrical drawings, mechanical schematics, operating manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Ability to identify mechanical and electrical components and replacement parts.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, schematics, and instructions.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed to support a 24/7 facility.
  • Availability to respond to maintenance emergencies when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining automated paper-converting or packaging equipment.
  • Experience working with conveyor systems.
  • Experience using a CMMS to manage work orders and maintenance records.
  • Technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electrical technology, mechanical technology, or a related field.

Work Environment

This position is performed in an active manufacturing environment and requires regular interaction with industrial machinery and production equipment. Employees must follow all established safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
