Job Summary
The Senior Driver is responsible for the safe operation of DOT-regulated vehicles to transport materials and equipment between locations. This role may involve customer-facing responsibilities depending on assignment. The Senior Driver operates independently while maintaining compliance with all safety, DOT, and company regulations.
Key Responsibilities
To perform this role successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
Safely operate DOT-regulated vehicles in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
Transport materials and equipment between company and customer locations
Maintain a safe working environment and promote a strong safety culture
Protect and properly maintain company vehicles, equipment, and property
Demonstrate accountability, innovation, and ownership in daily responsibilities
Collaborate effectively in a team environment while working independently with minimal supervision
Complete required documentation accurately and timely
Travel Requirements
Travel required
80%–90% travel depending on division and location
Mix of local and long-distance routes, including overnight stays
Driving & Compliance Requirements
Completed Driver Application for Employment
Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
Required documentation and forms, including:
Driver Disclosure and Release
Employee Applicant Drug and Alcohol Statement
FMCSA Certificate of Awareness
Driver Certificate of Violations
Driver Statement of On-Duty Hours
Road Test documentation
Copy of valid Driver’s License
Copy of current Medical Certificate

Education & Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Class A with required endorsements
Additional Experience & Qualifications
Ability to obtain required customer clearances (TWIC, DISA, etc.)
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Card
Clean driving record
2–5 years of relevant technical experience, preferably in industrial or commercial process water environments
Ability to drive overnight and long-distance routes
Ability to cross borders and obtain a valid passport
Ability to navigate difficult routes and varying driving conditions
Understanding of weight requirements and proper load distribution
The estimated salary range for this position is $26-32 an hour.   Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.  At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
