Overview

The Senior Design Project Director position is an exciting opportunity to join PM Group’s quickly growing Philadelphia area team in Conshohocken, PA. Together we will all be sharing knowledge, learning, growing and continuing to be an integral part of supporting PM Group’s ongoing expansion in the US. Our office is executing cutting-edge projects for Cell & Gene Therapy, Biologics, and Pharma facilities – from feasibility through qualification – for both local and international clients. With our clients and partners, we will deliver projects that improve the everyday lives of people across the globe.

 

This is a senior level position within PM Group and we are looking for a professional who enjoys client interaction, facilitating business growth and supporting staff development. Technical knowledge of the entire project delivery life cycle (from first contact through proposal preparation and project execution) with a focus on the Design process through all phases, and the ability to support business development activities is essential.  The Senior Project Director operates with autonomy as the principal project(s) representative. Additionally, the role requires the ability to inspire confidence in the team while providing mentorship and ensuring project delivery excellence.  The successful individual will have proven experience working on life science projects, leading multi-discipline engineering & architecture design teams.  Expect project work to encompass the entire project life cycle through design, preconstruction, construction administration, CQV, etc.  Project sizes will vary and the duties of the role require periodic travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an ambassador for the company as you interact with our clients, securing new Business and Projects and then providing excellent project delivery services
  • Deploy your experience and expertise in Project Management, Project Controls and Design Management Services
  • Lead, execute and oversee projects directly and through the supervision of other PM Group team members
  • Mentor the Project Management team
  • Focus on building and retaining a key core team through recruitment, training and mentoring
  • Support good departmental communications including current office and company information
  • Support planning and allocation of resources to meet project management  requirements at both the office and client sites
  • Develop and maintain client relationships via client outreach, external presentations, participation in technical committees, etc.
  • Generate scopes of work, project proposals, schedules and cost estimates
  • Present to clients, industry leaders, academics and students on relevant topics
  • Lead the project delivery strategy development & delivery through the entire project life cycle
  • Interact with Senior Management in a constructive manner while preserving the scope and resources on projects
  • Maintain and drive quality standards
  • Identify and help drive needed improvements that support the development of the project delivery Community on PM Group’s internal platforms
  • Special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or an engineering discipline is required; an advanced degree is preferred
  • 10 + Years of experience working within a cGMP regulated environment
  • Previous experience providing project management services to clients 
  • Experience functioning as a Team Leader supporting multiple life science projects
  • Desire to mentor Project Management staff Proven understanding of project execution methodologies for cGMP life science facilities
  • Good time management skills
  • Strong work ethic, self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality
  • A forward planner who identifies and resolves project issues
  • Ability to critically assesses own performance and the performance of others
  • Broad experience in interdisciplinary coordination on projects in the life sciences industry
  • Excellent communication, documentation & people skills
  • Good organizational and leadership skills
  • Flexible and willing to travel to meet project and company requirements as needed
