Job Summary
This is a skilled work in repair and maintenance of a variety of automobiles, trucks and heave and light automotive equipment
Work involves inspecting and diagnosing the condition of automotive equipment and completing repairs as needed. Work is reviewed by the vehicle maintenance superintendent through periodic inspections and the performance of equipment after repair.

- Actively assumes role of supervisor when vehicle maintenance superintendent is absent or on leave.
- Efficiently obtains quotes and enters requisitions for purchasing parts (and enters work orders), as required.
- Accurately performs repairs to transmissions, brakes, engines, lawn equipment and hydraulic equipment.
- Accurately performs preventative maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, safety equipment checks, trouble-shoots electrical problems, greasing and lubricating equipment.
- Promptly and timely responds to road service calls.
- Safely operates various types of shop equipment, machinery and specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Safely operates dump truck, bush hog, water pump truck and other heavy equipment.
- Correctly prepares maintenance reports.
- Routinely performs routine maintenance and cleaning of shop and surrounding area.
Minimum Qualifications
Licenses:
Valid Georgia Commercial driver’s license (CDL) or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date.
Education:
Completion of a standard high school diploma, GED or equivalent from a regionally or nationally accredited school.
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the maintenance and repair of automotive and construction equipment; or
Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
