The Equipment Specialist supports the maintenance, repair, calibration, and operational readiness of equipment used in natural gas operations. This role is responsible for diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related issues; performing repairs; maintaining calibration standards; and ensuring accurate documentation of all work performed.

The Equipment Specialist also manages parts inventory, coordinates procurement and receiving of components, and ensures all testing and calibration equipment meet industry and regulatory standards. This position requires travel to field locations and ongoing communication with internal teams and customers to support equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine components used in natural gas operations
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair activities ranging from routine servicing (oiling, greasing, inspections) to more advanced mechanical repairs
  • Maintain accurate inventory of parts, including part number identification, ordering, receiving, and documentation in company and client systems
  • Ensure parts availability to support field maintenance and minimize downtime
  • Travel to job sites to provide hands-on field service and technical support
  • Inspect, test, and calibrate gauges, clocks, and other testing equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate annual recalibration of testing equipment and maintain full documentation records
  • Document inspections, repairs, and calibration activities in company and customer systems
  • Inspect and maintain specialized equipment including EF Processors, moles, and missile systems
  • Track parts replacements and repairs to ensure compliance with customer and industry standards

Education & Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in industrial equipment maintenance and repair, preferably within natural gas or utility operations
  • Prior field service experience with frequent travel preferred
  • Working knowledge of pumps, compressors, engines, gauges, valves, and hydraulic systems

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, kneel, crouch, and balance for extended periods
  • Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Manual dexterity for handling tools and equipment
