Job Summary

Applicants for this position must have relevant hands-on field experience in water/wastewater projects and commercial experience.  They must be able to review take-off quantities to ensure accuracy of data used in estimates, review drawings, specifications and proposed project site conditions.

Responsibilities and Duties

Assemble, install and repair underground pipe, fittings and valves of various materials and sizes for storm or sanitation sewers, drains and water mains

Set-up and use pipe lasers and transits to position pipe and fittings in trenches

Hand signal equipment operators

Backfill around pipe using hand tools

Measure, cut and leak test pipes

Job site safety knowledge

Follow project plans and schedules to ensure that crews meet production goals

Turn work requirements into a prioritized work plan for the crew

Check equipment to ensure proper working conditions

Prepare reports as required

Understand line and grade, shoot grade with a level, and set up a pipe laser

Applicants must have general knowledge of heavy equipment operations and maintenance

Applicants must have experience in heavy civil construction at a water wastewater project

Applicants with knowledge of pipe laying for water mains, sanitary sewers, storm sewer, reading and understanding plans and specifications highly preferred

The ideal candidate would have prior trench safety and rigging/signaling training, as well as experience with ductile, steel and PVC pipe.

Expected to travel where the project requires (Job-Sites located throughout Tennessee)

Qualifications and Skills

• Prefer a experience as a Foreman in Underground Pipe Instalation with emphasis in the field of heavy civil water & wastewater construction.
• Must be able to take accurate measurements.
• Must be organized to plan the sequence of work from start to finish.
• Must have experience working with poured in place concrete structures.
• Prefer applicants with knowledge of pipe laying for water mains, sanitary sewers, storm sewer, reading and understanding plans and specifications highly preferred
• Must be able to understand verbal instructions.

Salary Range Dependent on Experience (DOE)
