As an Associate Superintendent, you’ll be immersed in the daily management of a grain-handling facility, while learning how to lead safely and efficiently.  You’ll be at the heart of what we do, learning the business, driving a culture of safety and engaging with our customers in a rural environment. As an Associate Superintendent, you will:  

  • Assist facility management with the oversight of daily operations of the facility, including receiving, storing and shipping grain/ingredients  
  • Gain leadership experience in supervising employees, giving daily directions, and leading employee training  
  • Become a safety advocate by developing a thorough understanding of safety policies and procedures, ensuring employee safety and protecting company assets  
  • Provide outstanding service to Scoular's customers while building a competitive and sustainable operation 
  • Identify and implement operational changes and facility improvements 
  • Learn to manage product quality, quantity and inventories to gain responsibility for inbound and outbound product flow 
  • Determine cost/benefit analysis to support proposals for facility improvements 
  • Build an understanding of the commodity merchandising activity and strategies and translate to coordinate transportation and maintenance requirements to ensure on-time deliveries 
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing an associate’s bachelor's degree with an anticipated graduation of December 2026 or May 2027 and interested in building a long-term leadership career in operations, supply chain or agribusiness 
  • Hands-on problem solver who enjoys being out in the operation, leading people, improving processes and tackling challenges as they arise 
  • Possess mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn, with the ability to understand facility equipmentidentify potential issues and partner with maintenance teams to keep operations running safely and efficiently 
  • Emerging leader with experience motivating others and leading in clubs, athletics, student organizations, work, military service or other team-based environments  
  • Strong communicator who can effectively work with employees, customers, truck drivers and business partners while building strong working relationships 
  • Detail-oriented and safety-focused, with a commitment to doing things the right way and creating a culture where people can work safely and efficiently 
  • Comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing demands and adapting when plans change
