The Card Portfolio Product Analyst is a subject-matter expert responsible for driving growth, optimization, and member engagement and behavior, monitoring performance metrics for the credit union's credit and debit card portfolios. Â This role serves as a strategic partner to leadership, providing data-driven insights, market research, and recommendations to enhance card programs, promotions, and overall portfolio performance. Â This position is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.

Key Responsibilities
Card Portfolio Strategy & Growth
- Support the strategic growth of credit and debit card portfolios by analyzing performance, trends, member behavior, and in-app actions to identify opportunities for growth.
- Monitor and evaluate key portfolio metrics including balances, spend, interchange income, interest income, rewards costs, and attrition.
- Identify opportunities to improve portfolio profitability and member engagement through product enhancements and targeted strategies.

Promotions & Campaign Research
- Research industry trends, competitive card offerings, and emerging promotional strategies.
- Recommend promotional campaigns such as balance transfer offers, introductory APRs, spend incentives, and rewards-based promotions.
- Partner with Marketing and EFT teams to support the execution of approved campaigns.
- Perform post-campaign analysis to assess effectiveness and ROI.
Card Program Evaluation & Optimization
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of existing credit and debit card programs.
- Evaluate card features, pricing, interest rates, balance transfer structures, and rewards programs.
- Recommend enhancements to improve rewards accruals, redemptions, pricing competitiveness, and member value.
- Support the development or enhancement of card products as business needs evolve.

Analytics & Reporting
- Produce routine and ad hoc reporting for leadership on card portfolio performance.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators.
- Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities and translate findings into clear recommendations.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of reporting.

Systems & Vendor Collaboration
- Utilize Jack Henry Symitar and Velera systems to support portfolio analysis, reporting, and program evaluation.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to address data, reporting, or program-related needs.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on card portfolio data and operational workflows.

Education & Experience Requirements
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Data Analytics, or a related field
(Equivalent relevant experience may be considered instead of a degree)
Experience:
- 3–5+ years of experience in card portfolio management, payments, financial services, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience analyzing or supporting credit and/or debit card programs.
- Experience evaluating or supporting card promotions and campaigns.
- Experience working with Jack Henry Symitar and Velera is strongly preferred.
- Credit union or financial institution experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of card network rules and interchange concepts.
- Experience partnering with marketing, IT/Data Analytics, and finance teams.
- Strong understanding of financial performance and member behavior analytics.
