Lutron is seeking a collaborative and results-driven Indirect Spend Category Manager to lead the strategic sourcing and category management of IT-related goods and services, at our Corporate Headquarters in Coopersburg, PA, with a primary focus on software contracts and technology spend.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies that drive cost savings, operational efficiency, and long-term business value. You will partner closely with stakeholders across Finance, Legal, IT, Operations, Human Resources, Project Management, and other business functions to understand evolving business needs, strengthen supplier relationships, optimize procurement processes, and ensure procurement strategies align with organizational objectives. Through data-driven decision-making and strategic supplier management, you will help maximize value while mitigating risk across Lutron's indirect technology spend.
Responsibilities
Stakeholder Engagement & Strategy Development:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deeply understand their needs, provide strategic guidance, and ensure alignment with procurement objectives.
- Work closely with category business leaders to gain insights into current and future business requirements, ensuring alignment with long-term goals.
Cost Savings & Value Optimization:
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities, driving Year-over-Year (YoY) savings while reporting monthly to the leadership team on progress.
- Develop a comprehensive 3-year strategy for the Software Indirect Procurement Spend, focused on achieving optimal value, efficiency, and cost reductions.
- Translate category strategies into actionable plans, ensuring successful execution and realization of savings.
Category Management & Contract Negotiation:
- Lead negotiations with suppliers, establishing and executing negotiation strategies and tactics to drive favorable outcomes.
- Ensure that supplier performance consistently meets Lutron’s standards for quality, delivery, and cost.
Process Improvement & Procurement Efficiency:
- Identify and implement process improvements within procurement operations to enhance efficiency, reduce risk, and increase overall effectiveness.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and potential risks to anticipate opportunities and challenges within the software contracts category.
Reporting & Performance Tracking:
- Track, report, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of category strategies and procurement activities.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; a degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 12+ years of experience post academics.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in procurement and indirect spend category management – preferable within software service contracts.
- Proven analytical skills with the ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend process enhancements
- Working In-depth knowledge of IT Procurement and fundamentals, IT specific category specific knowledge
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build collaborative partnerships with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors
