Overview

Lutron is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our Global Payroll team and play a critical role in delivering an exceptional employee experience through accurate and timely payroll administration.

In this role, you'll serve as a trusted resource for employees across the United States and Puerto Rico, helping them navigate payroll-related questions while partnering with HR, Benefits, and business teams to ensure payroll processes are seamless and compliant. As a Payroll Specialist, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting payroll operations, improving processes, and helping employees feel confident that one of the most important aspects of their employment—their pay—is handled with care and accuracy.


Responsibilities

  • Support time collection activities by reviewing, validating, and troubleshooting time and attendance data.
  • Partner closely with HR, Benefits, and third-party vendors to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate payroll outcomes.
  • Process and maintain payroll exception items, including:
    • Leave of absence pay impacts
    • Third-party sick pay payments
    • One-time payment requests, garnishments
  • Serve as a primary payroll resource for domestic and Puerto Rico employees, responding to payroll-related inquiries with professionalism, discretion, and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Assist with payroll reporting, audits, reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and payroll information.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 for all degrees earned.
  • 3+ years of payroll, HR, or accounting experience.
  • Experience with SAP, ADP/Celergo, or similar payroll systems preferred.
  • Proven attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and ability to reconcile accounts.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred, including the ability to analyze, manipulate, and interpret large data sets.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend process enhancements
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build collaborative partnerships with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors.
