The Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing and completing bid/submittal documents and cost estimatesforelectricalconstructionprojects.TheSeniorEstimatoristheLeadEstimatorforprojectsand works with other Estimators, suppliers, and customers to complete the estimate.Â

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Prepareestimatefromquantitytake-offonprojectandcompleteestimatetocomputerprintout.Â
Identifypartsofprojectthatmaybekeytomakingacompetitiveestimate.Â
Reviewproposalspecifications,drawings,andattendpre-bidmeetingstodeterminescopeofwork and required contents of estimate.Â
Evaluateareasforpotentialvalueengineeringcostsavings.Â
Provideleadershiptopersonnelpreparingdisciplinesubestimatesforassignedbids.Â
Ensureallworkingdocumentsanddataaremaintainedtoback-upestimatefigures.Â
Developlaborproductivityand(installationunitcostswhere applicable)basedonprojectedsite conditions and historical data.Â
Preparedetailedlistingofmaterialandequipmentitemsfortheestimateandtoobtainquotes.Â
Identifyqualifiedsuppliers/subcontractorsandberesponsibleforsolicitingquotes.Reviewquotesfor completeness and conformance with plans and specs.Â
Responsibleforthetimelycompletionofallclient-requireddocuments.Â
Draftscope/proposallettersforbidandnegotiatedprojects.Â
Priortotheissuingoftheformalbidpackage,providetheChiefEstimator withadetailedreviewof scope, technical requirements, and pricing for the estimated bid package.Â
After the successful bid at project turnover, meet with the Project Management departments to fullyexplainjobscope,potentialareasofattentionandotheraspectsforthesuccessfultransitionof the project.Â
Maintainfilesofallworkingdocumentstoback-upestimatefiguresandupdatetheRosendin approved estimating program.Â
