CUSTOMS ENTRY WRITER III

Job Profile Summary:

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conducts audits to verify physical shipments accuracy using bills of lading, invoices, and other documents.
• Identifies and records any discrepancies.
• Prepares, distributes or processes documentation to ensure required documents are in place and correct.
• Coordinates and communicates with customers, agents, vendors, and shippers to maintain process flows and resolve issues.
• Performs data entry of shipping and cargo details into systems following required procedures.
• Comply with the requirements of the company’s Quality Management System. 

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of related experience  
• Attention to detail, good time management and ability to work independently.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office - Excel, PowerPoint, & Word.
• General knowledge of the harmonized tariff schedule.
• General knowledge of customs and participating government agency regulations.
• Proficiency in English, including the ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English, is required for this position.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:

• Experience with CargoWise One, preferably the Import Brokerage module.
• CargoWise Certified Operator (CCO) certification.
• Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation

Physical Requirements:

• Remain in a stationary/seated position for an extended period.
• Regularly required to operate a computer, telephone, keyboard, and other office machinery.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
• The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds.
