About the Role:
The Lead Patient Coordinator at Coppell Dentistry for Kids plays a critical role in ensuring an exceptional patient experience by providing comprehensive support throughout the patient care journey. This position involves acting as a liaison between patients and clinical staff, addressing patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, and facilitating communication to promote smooth and efficient operations. The specialist will manage patient records with accuracy and confidentiality, assist with insurance verification and billing questions, and help resolve any concerns to enhance patient satisfaction. By maintaining a compassionate and professional demeanor, the Patient Support Specialist contributes to building trust and fostering long-term relationships with patients. Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, responding promptly to phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize daily workflow.
- Assist patients with insurance verification, billing questions, and payment processing to ensure clarity and accuracy.
- Maintain and update patient records in compliance with privacy regulations and office policies.
- Collaborate with the pediatric team to communicate treatment plans, appointment reminders, and follow-up care instructions.
- Address and resolve patient concerns or complaints with empathy and professionalism, escalating issues when necessary.
- Support administrative tasks such as preparing patient forms, managing correspondence, and organizing patient files.
- Assist patients with understanding financial agreements and payment options
- Support insurance verification and benefits communication
- Process payments and maintain accurate patient financial records
- Collaborate with the financial coordinator to ensure clear and accurate financial communication

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or dental office setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or certification in healthcare administration or related field.
- Experience working in a pediatric or dental practice environment.
- Familiarity with insurance processes and medical billing procedures.
- Proficiency in practice management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bilingual abilities to support a diverse patient population.
