Salesforce Applications Manager

The Role

We are seeking a hands-on, technically strong Salesforce Application Manager to lead multiple Agile teams responsible for the design, development, delivery, and production support of Salesforce Sales Cloud capabilities.

This is a high-impact leadership role supporting business-critical sales processes. You will oversee Salesforce solutions for lead capture, lead distribution, sales-agent workflows, customer engagement, opportunity management, reporting, and conversion.

You will be accountable for both delivery and operational excellence—ensuring that Salesforce remains reliable, scalable, secure, and continuously aligned with the needs of our sales teams and customers.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead Agile teams—including Salesforce developers, administrators, DevOps engineers, architects, and other technology professionals—to deliver scalable Sales Cloud solutions.
  • Oversee Salesforce capabilities supporting the complete lead lifecycle, including lead capture, qualification, assignment, intelligent routing, follow-up, nurturing, conversion, and performance measurement.
  • Improve sales-agent productivity through guided workflows, automation, customer insights, activity management, alerts, and next-best-action recommendations.
  • Establish strong technical standards and ensure Salesforce best practices are followed across Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, integrations, data modeling, security, and platform configuration.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Product, Marketing, Operations, Architecture, and other technology teams to prioritize business needs and shape the Salesforce product roadmap.
  • Lead enterprise integrations connecting Salesforce with policy, customer, marketing, telephony, data, and analytics platforms.
  • Ensure the accuracy, availability, and timely distribution of sales leads so agents can respond quickly and maximize conversion opportunities.
  • Own production support for business-critical Sales Cloud applications, including incident management, service restoration, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and proactive system monitoring.
  • Drive DevOps maturity, release governance, automated testing, code reviews, design reviews, and continuous integration and deployment practices.
  • Establish measurable engineering and operational standards for system reliability, release quality, defect reduction, technical-debt remediation, and delivery performance.
  • Mentor team members, strengthen Salesforce technical capabilities, and foster a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate platform health, delivery progress, risks, incidents, and strategic priorities clearly to business stakeholders and senior and executive leadership.

What You’ll Bring

  • 10+ years of experience leading and managing high-performing application engineering teams in enterprise environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud, including lead management, lead assignment and routing, opportunity management, activity tracking, workflow automation, and sales reporting.
  • Proven Salesforce development experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, integrations, APIs, security, and data modeling.
  • Experience designing and supporting complex, high-volume lead-management solutions used by sales or contact-center organizations.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce sharing, access controls, profiles, permission sets, roles, queues, assignment rules, and enterprise security standards.
  • Demonstrated success managing business-critical production applications and resolving incidents that affect sales operations, customer experience, or revenue.
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with enterprise customer, policy, marketing, telephony, data, and analytics platforms.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated testing, release management, and Salesforce deployment governance.
  • Ability to balance business delivery, system stability, development velocity, security, scalability, and code quality.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to translate technical issues into clear business impacts and recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Salesforce certifications such as:
    • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I or II
    • Salesforce Certified Sales Cloud Consultant
    • Salesforce Certified Platform App Builder
    • Salesforce Certified Administrator
    • Salesforce Certified Application Architect
  • Experience supporting insurance, membership, financial services, sales, or contact-center business processes.
  • Experience with Salesforce Omni-Channel, digital engagement, intelligent lead routing, territory management, forecasting, dashboards, and sales-performance analytics.
  • Familiarity with enterprise integration platforms, middleware, master-data management, policy-administration systems, and telephony or contact-center platforms.
  • Experience with Salesforce Agentforce, Einstein AI, predictive lead scoring, next-best action, or AI-assisted selling.
  • Experience building or integrating intelligent agents and automation into lead-management and sales workflows.
  • Exposure to AI/ML-driven decision-making, customer insights, workflow automation, and orchestration within CRM ecosystems.

What Sets You Apart

  • A strong understanding of how technology can improve lead response time, sales-agent productivity, conversion, and customer experience.
  • Proven ability to lead teams through complex production incidents while maintaining clear communication and accountability.
  • Strong executive presence, with the ability to influence technical, business, and senior leadership stakeholders.
