The Estimator I is responsible for preparing and completing bid documents and cost estimates for electricalconstructionprojects.TheEstimatorcontrolstheconstructioncostsbycollectingandstudying information, evaluating bid specifications and drawings, ensuring they know what is required to successfully bid and win the project.Â

Reviewproposalspecificationsanddrawingstodeterminescopeofworkandrequiredcontentsof estimate.Â
Prepareestimatesbycalculatingcompletetakeoffofscopeofworkandenterintocomputer estimating system; review computer printout for accuracy and completeness.Â
Requestquotesfromsuppliersforequipmentandmaterials.Â
Identifyqualifiedsuppliers/subcontractorsandsolicitquotes.Reviewquotesforcompletenesswith plans and specificationsÂ
Itemizeandquantifyallincidentalsnecessaryinpreparingthebidpackagesincludingsub-contract work, equipment rental, tools, and suppliesÂ
Priortotheissuingoftheformalbidpackage,providetheChiefEstimator withadetailedreviewof scope, technical requirements, and pricing for the estimated bid package.Â
Afterthesuccessfulbidatprojectturnover,meetwithProjectManagementtofullyexplainthe estimate, scope of work, quotes and offer aspects for the successful transition of the project.Â
