Position Purpose:   The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining ledgers, preparing financial reports, and performing day‑to‑day accounting tasks to ensure accurate and ensure accurate financial record‑keeping.

Responsibilities:     
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly Commissions payments, and generate reports for agents and agencies.
    Act as Accounts Payable backup responsible for prepare and process weekly payment runs (checks, ACH, wire transfers), maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
  • Assist Senior Accountants with the day-to-day, monthly and year-end operations of the Accounting Department.
    Reconciles AP report discrepancies and problems.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations.
    Demonstrate effective communication and problem-solving skills.
    Maintain documentation and accounting records.
    Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and organization.
  • Proven track record of good communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills, Word, and accounting systems.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks; work efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related fields.
