DEFINITION OF POSITION:
Provides individualized and specialized care to patients in the Endoscopy Center in accordance with the Center's policies and procedures. Functions cooperatively with physicians and staff exhibiting teamwork characteristics. Demonstrates initiative, insight and judgment in the decision-making process.

Room Preparation Â
1Â Â Â Â Â Prepares room and equipment based on patient needs
2Â Â Â Â Â Implements housecleaning tasks necessary for sanitation
3Â Â Â Â Â Acquires supplies and equipment needed for procedure
4Â Â Â Â Test equipment function and reports any malfunction
5Â Â Â After the procedure, cleans room and restocks supplies as appropriate for the next procedure or end of the day
Processing of Instruments and Equipment

QUALIFICATIONS:
•   High school graduate with one or more years of related work experience in GI endoscopy.
•   Able to read, write and communicate.
•   Displays a primary interest in giving good patient care and maintaining standards of courtesy and friendliness to co-workers.
•   Able to maintain and comply with patient confidentiality and integrity policy on all matters.
•   Membership of GI specialty society encouraged.
•   Maintains Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work involves prolonged periods of standing, sitting, lifting, bending, reaching and the ability to push or pull items weighing SO pounds or less.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The Center is open Monday through Friday and provides preoperative beds, procedure rooms, and post procedure beds. In the working environment of the Center, there may be potential exposure to communicable diseases, contaminated blood and body fluids, and hazardous materials.
