Position Summary: Responsible for the delivery of physical therapy care for inpatient and outpatient, on adult and geriatric population through the implementation of the plan of treatment initiated by the physical therapist and its documentation in accordance to Hospital and Company Policies and Procedures. The Therapist Assistant works under the supervision of a Registered Physical Therapist for daily patient care situations and follows the chain of command. This position requires an excellent customer service attitude.

Qualifications/Requirements

 

Education.

Must possess an AA Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.

Required licensures/certifications

Must have a current professional license issued by the Florida Board of Physical Therapy Practice.

BLS certification.

Skills and Abilities

Excellent communication skills

Experience

Knowledge of the principles of physical therapy in providing treatment for adult and geriatric populations. Current knowledge of the agents, modalities, procedures and techniques in physical therapy. A minimum of one year of experience is desired; however recent graduates will be considered.
