Child Clinical Program

College of Arts and Sciences – Psychology Department

The Department of Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Miami invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the department’s Child Clinical Program at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) or Associate Professor (tenure-eligible). The start date of the appointment is August 15, 2026. The area of focus for this search is broad. Our department and child division is collaborative, and thus we value those who have complementary interests to our current faculty, as well as those who can expand upon existing areas of strength (e.g., autism spectrum disorders, child and adolescent anxiety, trauma, depression, irritability, effective prevention and intervention of youth psychopathology, computational modeling of disorders, high-risk youth and families, and dissemination and implementation of effective interventions in youth treatment settings [schools, community clinics, etc.]).

The University of Miami is a private institution, and the Department of Psychology is a vibrant, collaborative community that includes clinical and psychological sciences faculty across Child, Adult, Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience, and Health Divisions. The APA- and PCSAS-accredited Child Clinical Program contains two areas of emphasis: Child/Family Clinical and Pediatric Health. It is housed within the Department’s Child Division, which also includes the Developmental Psychology Program. The mission of the Department is to acquire, advance, and disseminate knowledge within the Psychological and Biobehavioral Sciences, supported through excellent graduate programs and state-of-the-art facilities. The department values a rich and inclusive climate and has an active Committee on Culture and Belonging.

License-eligible clinical psychologists are preferred, and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology or a related discipline is required by the start of the appointment. Applications can be submitted via the UM Careers website. Please compile the following documents in a single PDF and upload under the Resume/CV section of the online application. If you have difficulties uploading any representative publications due to size limitations, please email them directly to our administrative assistant Maria Shah (maria.shah@miami.edu).
