The Environmental Services Department plays a vital role in ensuring that the hospital remains clean and safe for patients, staff, and visitors. As a member of this team, the main duties will be to clean and sanitize all areas of the hospital including patient rooms, offices, waiting areas, and meeting rooms.Â

The Environmental Services Technician I is responsible for executing the daily duties required to establishand maintain a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment. While executing the assigned tasks, the EVS Tech will have contact with patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff. Contact may include physical, psychological, educational, and safety related and should be appropriate to the specific demographics of patients served in assigned service areas. Responsible for ensuring timely room turns related to patient throughput within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. The environmental services technician, in accordance with organizational standards of quality, is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention and patient experience.Â

Job Description:Â Â
Cleans and disinfects patient care and specialty areas, including Surgical Services and other clinical areas. Â
Follows infection prevention, safety, PPE, and waste-handling procedures. Â
Performs routine and specialized floor, room, and equipment cleaning using approved products and equipment. Â
Maintains EVS equipment, carts, and supplies and reports maintenance or safety concerns. Â
Supports departmental quality, cleanliness, and patient experience goals. Â
Provides excellent customer service and performs other EVS duties as assigned.Â

Minimum QualificationsÂ
Education: Less than High School Â
Experience: No experience requiredÂ
Licensure/Certification: None requiredÂ
Preferred QualificationsÂ
1–2 years of Customer Service experience Â
1–2 years of Environmental Services experience Â
Sterile Field Training and/or 2+ years of Environmental Services experienceÂ
