- Provide companionship to the patient.
- Alert the RN of patient behavior which could lead to injury.
- MaintainĀ One to One observation status (constant eye sight and within arm's reach at all times) of the patient.
- Maintain Special Observation documentation form (patient's location every 15 minutes) if determined suicide precautions/one to one observation.
- Provide deāescalation tactics to help control potential stressful situations.
- Communicate patient's needs to patient care team.
- Maintain and respect the patient's responsibility, privacy, and dignity.
- Demonstrates behavior appropriate to keeping the patient relaxed.
