PURPOSE OF POSITION

Produce defined quantity of parts and components according to specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

 

More specifically, the employee owner will:

  • Ensure all parts and components are accurate according to specifications.
  • Operate, setup and program all machines in machine shop including but not limited to lathe, mill, band saw, and various hand-held air tools.
  • Assemble parts and components according to specifications.
  • Prepare and skid product.
  • Perform general housekeeping and maintenance on equipment.
  • Prepare parts, components, and products for shipping.
  • Perform extra assignments in other areas and related task assignments in the work area.
  • Regular, consistent attendance.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Strong commitment to quality and working safely.
  • Ability to read various measuring devices (e.g., measuring tape, caliper, micrometer, etc.).
  • Ability to think critically and problem solve to complete tasks.
  • General computer experience is preferred. 
  • Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
  • Ability to work independently or as a team with minimal supervision.

 

EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – COMPUTER SKILLS

  • High school diploma or a general education degree (GED); or
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.


TRAINING – CERTIFICATIONS – LICENSES 

  • Continually participate in additional training related to the job.
  • Forklift license

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
  • Specific hearing abilities required for this job include the ability to hear equipment alarms and the ability to hear instructions from others.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY 

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually LOUD.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), outdoor weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
  • The employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Steel-toe safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, and protective gloves are required. Additional PPE may be required if working in other areas.
