Position Summary:
Wilson Construction Company is seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to support and lead environmental permitting and compliance activities across California operations. This role is responsible for managing environmental programs throughout the full project lifecycle, from pursuit and planning through construction and closeout.

The successful candidate will serve as a technical and operational leader, working cross-functionally with project management, field teams, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws and permits.


Location Requirements:
• Ā  Ā This position can be based in either Corona, CA or El Dorado Hills/Rancho Cordova, CA.


Key Responsibilities:
• Ā  Ā Lead environmental permitting, compliance, and mitigation efforts for utility construction projectsĀ 
• Ā  Ā Manage environmental staff, consultants, and subcontractorsĀ 
• Ā  Ā Oversee environmental support during project bidding, including cost estimating and risk identificationĀ 
• Ā  Ā Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and permit conditionsĀ 
• Ā  Ā Prepare and review environmental documentation, including permits, reports, and agency submittalsĀ 
• Ā  Ā Provide strategic guidance to project teams to facilitate efficient and compliant project executionĀ 
• Ā  Ā Develop and deliver environmental training programs for field and project staffĀ 
• Ā  Ā Support environmental incident response, including investigations and corrective action implementationĀ 
• Ā  Ā Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and regulatory agenciesĀ 
• Ā  Ā Identify opportunities to improve environmental performance and integrate sustainable practicesĀ 
• Ā  Ā Travel to project sites and support field operations as required


Minimum Requirements:
• Ā  Ā Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Environmental Engineering, or related fieldĀ 
• Ā  Ā Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in environmental permitting and compliance
• Ā  Ā Demonstrated experience managing environmental programs for infrastructure or utility projectsĀ 
• Ā  Ā Strong working knowledge of key environmental regulations, including:Ā 
Ā  Ā  Ā  o Ā  Ā Clean Water Act (CWA)Ā 
Ā  Ā  Ā  o Ā  Ā Endangered Species Act (ESA)Ā 
Ā  Ā  Ā  o Ā  Ā National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)Ā 
Ā  Ā  Ā  o Ā  Ā California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)Ā 
Ā  Ā  Ā  o Ā  Ā Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation ActĀ 
Ā  Ā  Ā  o Ā  Ā Rivers and Harbors Act (RHA)Ā 
• Ā  Ā Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects concurrentlyĀ 
• Ā  Ā Excellent written and verbal communication skillsĀ 
• Ā  Ā Proficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteĀ 
• Ā  Ā Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites


Preferred Qualifications:
• Ā  Ā Advanced degree in a related disciplineĀ 
• Ā  Ā Professional certifications such as CPESC, QSD, or QSPĀ 
• Ā  Ā Direct experience supporting electric utility or linear infrastructure projects in CaliforniaĀ 
• Ā  Ā Experience with client relationship management and business development support
