Position Summary
The Clinical Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting clinical and operational data to support informed decision-making across the organization. This role partners with clinical, operational, and IT teams to develop reports, dashboards, and insights that improve patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Extract, analyze, and validate data from clinical systems (e.g., EHR, financial, operational systems)Â
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using tools such as Power BI, SQL, or ExcelÂ
- Support hospital operations through reporting on key metrics (e.g., DNFB, LOS, case mix index, patient volumes)Â
- Collaborate with clinical, finance, and operational teams to understand reporting needs and deliver actionable insightsÂ
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across reporting platformsÂ
- Assist in regulatory and compliance reporting (e.g., HCAI, CMS, internal audits)Â
- Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvementÂ
- Support data requests from leadership, departments, and external stakeholdersÂ
- Document reporting processes, data definitions, and workflowsÂ
- Participate in data validation, testing, and system upgrades (e.g., EHR enhancements, migrations)Â
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred)Â
- Minimum 1 year of experience in data analysis (healthcare experience preferred)Â
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulationÂ
- Experience with reporting/visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, or similar)Â
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsÂ
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)Â
- Ability to communicate data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholdersÂ
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with EHR systems such as Paragon, Epic Systems, or CernerÂ
- Knowledge of healthcare metrics (DNFB, LOS, readmissions, case mix index, etc.)Â
- Familiarity with healthcare regulatory reporting requirements (HCAI, CMS)Â
- Experience in a hospital or healthcare system environmentÂ
- Understanding of data governance and data quality best practices
