This role is part of our Space and Launch business, which has contributed to the nation’s space programs for decades by delivering complete solutions from concept to flight. We enable successful space operations with mission-critical technology supporting every step from first launch to final landing, including launch vehicle subsystems, propulsion systems, aerodynamic and interstage systems, and payload protection and deployment. Our high-performance solutions are engineered to operate in the most extreme environments and meet precise mission requirements.
You will enhance organization-wide environmental, health, and safety (EHS) performance by developing and sustaining programs that ensure regulatory compliance, reduce risk, and strengthen safe work practices. Working across teams and sites, you will guide EHS standards, support incident response, streamline training, and advance initiatives that help protect employees and the environment.
Schedule
- This position follows a schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Responsibilities
- Designs, implements, and maintains EHS programs, procedures, and systems to support regulatory compliance across the division.
- Provides EHS guidance and best practices to functional teams and site leadership to support compliance and risk mitigation.
- Serves as a resource for employees by addressing EHS concerns and reinforcing safe work practices.
- Establishes standardized EHS training programs that support employees at all levels.
- Standardizes inspection programs focused on identifying and eliminating safety, health, and environmental risks.
- Develops and maintains EHS data retention procedures across the organization.
- Leads investigations of incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifies root causes, and drives corrective actions.
- Oversees hazardous waste management programs.
- Supports external EHS audits and assessments.
- Manages third‑party EHS reporting requirements, ensuring accurate documentation and submissions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental safety, occupational safety and health, or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge of environmental safety regulations and policies.
- Extensive knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Seven to ten years of related experience.
