Key Responsibilities
- Operate grinding equipment to shape, smooth, and finish metal components
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings
- Inspect parts for accuracy, defects, and conformance to specifications
- Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Maintain equipment and ensure proper setup for each job
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of grinding machines
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
- Maintain a clean and organized work area (5S standards)
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous grinding, machining, or metal fabrication experience preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Frequent bending, twisting, and repetitive motion
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise and dust
Work Environment
- Industrial/manufacturing setting
- Exposure to metal dust, noise, and moving machinery
- PPE required (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.)
