Position Function: 

The Quality Inspector as a member of the Operations Team performs inspections of incoming supplier components as well as products manufactured at the company with the purpose of ensuring the company achieves customer specifications.  The Quality Inspector also works with other employees and customer representatives to resolve external and internal quality concerns and inquiries.  

Primary Roles and Responsibilities Include: 

  • Perform visual inspections of components, sub-assemblies and final product per work instructions and customer specifications. 
  • Perform dimensional and testing evaluations of components, sub-assemblies and final product per work instructions and customer specifications. 
  • Create and maintain proper records of inspections, including written records, photographs, etc. 
  • Support customer representatives. 
  • Perform internal testing such as leak tests. 
  • Perform annual calibrations. 
  • Complete 1st article reports for customers. 
  • Participate in improvement projects. 
  • Organize work and storage areas for efficient workflow. 
  • Support the company through participation in continuous improvement efforts. 
  • All other duties as directed by supervisor. 

Requirements

 

Personal Qualifications: 

  • Competency in visual inspection utilizing work instructions and workmanship criteria. 
  • Ability to use basic hand tools such as pin gages, micrometers, and calipers. 
  • Proficiency using measurement tools such as dial indicators. 
  • Ability to read and understand complex drawings, instructions, and specifications. 
  • Familiar with ISO9001 or similar Quality Systems. 
  • Basic mathematic skills. 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Good decision-making abilities. 
  • Experience working with Military documentation. 
  • Strong team contributor in a dynamic workflow environment with good time management skills.  
  • Experience with CMM. 
  • US Citizenship. 
  • High School diploma. 
  • Three years minimum of general inspection work.
