POSITION SUMMARYĀ

The VOS Manager at the manufacturing site serves as the primary driver of the Vertiv Operating System (VOS), accountable for translating global standards into daily operational excellence and sustained cultural adoption. This role leads the deployment, governance, and continuous improvement of VOS across all functions, ensuring full alignment with Strategy Deployment, Tier Accountability, and Order-to-Fulfillment (OTF) processes. Acting as a strategic partner to the Site Leader, the VOS Manager embeds disciplined execution through Leader Standard Work, problem-solving (RCA), and escalation routines, while building organizational capability through structured training, coaching, and certification. The VOS Manager also serves as the site’s Lean subject matter expert (SME) and a fundamental point of reference, providing hands-on coaching and guidance to leaders and teams to ensure consistent understanding and effective implementation of Lean principles and practices. The position is responsible for ensuring compliance with global standards, driving measurable performance improvements across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory, and preparing the site for VOS Capability Assessments. Ultimately, the VOS Manager enables sustainable results by integrating systems, developing people, and reinforcing a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.Ā

RESPONSIBILITIESĀ Ā

  • VOS Deployment & GovernanceĀ Ā 

  • Lead end-to-end deployment of the Vertiv Operating System (VOS) across all site functions, ensuring full adherence to global standards and controlled documentation.Ā Ā 

  • Translate VOS requirements into practical, site-level execution plans with clear milestones, ownership, and measurable outcomes.Ā Ā 

  • Maintain strict compliance with VOS global templates, standards, and ā€œRules of Engagement,ā€ ensuring no unauthorized deviations.Ā Ā 

  • Act as the site’s subject matter expert (SME) for all 17 VOS elements, ensuring balanced maturity and integration across the system.Ā Ā 

  • Tier Accountability & Daily Management SystemĀ Ā 

  • Design, implement, and sustain Tier 1–Tier 3 (and Tier 4 where applicable) accountability structures aligned with global standards.Ā Ā 

  • Ensure 100% compliance on Tier board content, KPIs, and standard meeting agendas across all levels.Ā Ā 

  • Drive disciplined execution of daily operating cadence, ensuring real-time visibility, escalation, and follow-up of issues.Ā Ā 

  • Audit Tier meetings regularly to ensure quality of discussions, data accuracy, and leadership engagement.Ā Ā 

  • Performance Management & KPI GovernanceĀ Ā 

  • Own the deployment and sustainment of site-level KPI frameworks aligned with global scorecards and MOR requirements.Ā Ā 

  • Ensure KPIs are clearly defined, cascaded, and actively managed through Tier meetings and leadership routines.Ā Ā 

  • Lead data integrity and validation processes to ensure accuracy and reliability of reported performance.Ā Ā 

  • Support site leadership in performance reviews, identifying gaps, trends, and required corrective actions.Ā Ā 

  • Problem Solving, RCA & EscalationĀ Ā 

  • Embed structured problem-solving methodologies (RCA, 5 Whys, 8D) into daily operations, ensuring they are not treated as standalone activities.Ā Ā 

  • Ensure all significant deviations are properly escalated through defined pathways with clear ownership and timing.Ā Ā 

  • Drive closure discipline: problem identification → root cause → corrective action → standardization → sustainment.Ā Ā 

  • Coach leaders and teams on effective problem-solving techniques and escalation behaviors.Ā Ā 

  • Capability Building & TrainingĀ Ā 

  • Develop and execute a structured VOS capability-building roadmap for all levels of the organization.Ā Ā 

  • Ensure compliance with training requirements, including role-based training, certification, and traceability of training records.Ā Ā 

  • Coach site leadership (from frontline supervisors to site manager) on VOS principles, behaviors, and expectations.Ā Ā 

  • Build internal capability through mentoring, practical application, and reinforcement of standard work.Ā Ā 

  • Leader Standard Work (LSW)Ā Ā 

  • Define, implement, and sustain Leader Standard Work across all leadership levels.Ā Ā 

  • Ensure LSW is consistently executed, audited, and continuously improved.Ā Ā 

  • Align LSW with Tier Accountability, KPI reviews, Gemba walks, and escalation routines.Ā Ā 

  • Reinforce leadership discipline and accountability through structured routines.Ā Ā 

  • Continuous Improvement & Lean DeploymentĀ Ā 

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with VOS elements, including 5S+1, standard work, material flow, TPM, and process optimization.Ā Ā 

  • Lead Kaizen events and structured improvement cycles focused on eliminating waste and improving flow.Ā Ā 

  • Ensure improvements are standardized, documented, and sustained over time.Ā Ā 

  • Promote a culture of proactive problem identification and continuous improvement across all functions.Ā Ā 

  • OTF (Order-to-Fulfillment) IntegrationĀ Ā 

  • Ensure full integration of VOS with OTF processes, including planning, scheduling, production execution, and logistics.Ā Ā 

  • Support deployment of L2/L3 OTF processes and ensure alignment with Tier Accountability and KPI frameworks.Ā Ā 

  • Drive cross-functional coordination to meet customer commitments (SSD) and improve delivery performance.Ā Ā 

  • Monitor OTF-related KPIs and ensure issues are escalated and resolved effectively.Ā Ā 

  • Audit Readiness & Capability AssessmentĀ Ā 

  • Lead preparation for VOS Capability Assessments (Rookie, Challenger, and beyond), ensuring site readiness across all elements.Ā Ā 

  • Conduct internal pre-assessments and gap analyses to identify risks and required corrective actions.Ā Ā 

  • Coordinate audit activities, including documentation, evidence preparation, and stakeholder alignment.Ā Ā

QUALIFICATIONSĀ 

Minimum Job Qualifications:Ā Ā 

Education & ExperienceĀ Ā 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field.Ā Ā 

  • 5–7 years of experience in manufacturing, continuous improvement, or operational excellence.Ā Ā 

  • Hands-on experience deploying Lean, Six Sigma, or similar operating systems.Ā Ā 

Lean Six Sigma FoundationĀ Ā 

  • Solid understanding of Lean principles (3M’s, 8 wastes, flow, COPQ).Ā Ā 

  • Working knowledge of the DMAIC methodology and structured problem solving.Ā Ā 

Process & Improvement ToolsĀ Ā 

  • Experience with process mapping (SIPOC, value stream mapping) and Gemba-based analysis.Ā Ā 

  • Strong root cause analysis capability (5 Whys, fishbone, basic FMEA).Ā Ā 

  • Practical application of Lean tools (Kaizen, pull systems, line balancing, SMED, error-proofing).Ā Ā

  • Basic statistical knowledge and ability to analyze performance using tools like Pareto charts, histograms, and trend analysis.Ā Ā
