We are seeking a motivated entry-level Electrical Technician to join our Electrical Department. You’ll work in the fast-growing data center and bitcoin industry, supporting the acceptance, maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning of low-, medium-, and high-voltage power systems. Under the guidance of senior technicians and engineers, you’ll focus on safety, accurate data collection, and timely reporting. Essential Functions
- Perform acceptance and maintenance testing of LV/MV/HV equipment in accordance with NETA ATS/MTS, NFPA 70E, OSHA 1910 Subpart S, NEC, applicable IEEE standards, and company procedures.
- Set up, operate, and care for test equipment (megohmmeters, hipot/VLF, primary/secondary injection, breaker timing/contact resistance, relay test sets, TTR/winding resistance, power factor/tan δ, ground resistance); ensure calibration traceability.
- Execute tests and document results for:
o Switchgear/circuit breakers: timing, contact resistance, insulation, primary injection.
o Protection & controls: CT/PT ratio/polarity/excitation; relay secondary injection, logic/functional, and end-to-end tests.
o Transformers: TTR, winding resistance, insulation resistance/PI, power factor/tan δ; oil sampling/DGA where applicable.
o Cables/grounds: insulation resistance, VLF/TD, sheath testing, phasing; 3point/4point/fallofpotential ground tests.
o Facility systems (as applicable): UPS/batteries (impedance/capacity), generator loadbank tests, thermography/ultrasound/PD surveys.
- Read and interpret onelines, wiring diagrams, schematics, and nameplates to determine test and isolation points and system configuration.
- Plan and perform work using prejob briefs/JHAs, LOTO, and switching/clearance procedures; no energized work without permits and established boundaries.
- Inspect equipment, identify deficiencies, perform minor repairs/replacements, and escalate complex issues to senior personnel.
- Support FAT/SAT, point-to-point, interlock/functional checks, and energization/commissioning activities.
- Capture accurate data and produce timely test reports; use test software/databases (PowerDB, Omicron Test Universe, Enoserv RTS/AVTS or equivalent) and follow QA/peer review processes.
- Coordinate outages and work windows with contractors, utilities, engineers, and customers; provide clear status updates to supervisors/project managers.
- Maintain tools, vehicle, inventory, housekeeping, and a safe, compliant work area.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Willingness to pursue NICET Electrical Power Testing certification (Level I/II) and complete company training.
· Working knowledge of NFPA 70E, LOTO, and safe grounding practices; able to pass safety trainings.
· Ability to read onelines/schematics and follow written test procedures, strong documentation skills.

Education & Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent required; technical trade school or A.S. in Electrical Technology preferred.
· 0–2 years in electrical testing/maintenance or related field; foundational understanding of AC/DC theory and power systems.
· Preferred: OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR; experience with Omicron/Doble/Megger/ETI test sets; CMMS (Maximo/SAP); datacenter, substation, or industrial plant experience.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace; ability to learn Power DB/RTS/AVTS or similar.
Requirements
· Must have and maintain Valid Texas driver’s license; able to meet customer site access/badging requirements.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
· Field work in substations, plants, and datacenter environments; indoor/outdoor exposure, weather, and noise.
· Frequent standing/walking/bending and ladder/step access; lift/carry up to 50 lb.
· Use of arcrated PPE and protective equipment per NFPA 70E.
· Willingness to work any assigned shift (usually 4 on and 4 off), required overtime, night/weekend outage work, and on call rotation as scheduled.
· Exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration and occasional fumes or airborne particles: noise levels range from moderate to loud.
