The Position

The Assistant Pool Manager (FT) supports the Pool Manager in keeping Cortez Aquatic facilities running smoothly and safely. This full-time, onsite role helps coordinate operations, uphold standards, and provide dependable leadership for staff and patrons.

Key responsibilities include scheduling support, daily facility upkeep, basic record keeping, and professional public-facing communication.

Required qualifications/skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience leading people; able to guide staff with confidence
- Ability to enforce safety procedures and facility policies with tact and firmness
- Calm, accurate response in emergency situations
- Strong public relations and communication skills
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid Colorado driver’s license

A Typical Shift

You’ll arrive ahead of peak swim times to touch base on staffing needs, check the day’s notes, and help set priorities. During open hours, you’ll stay visible on deck and at the front counter—answering questions, handling routine issues, and keeping communication clear between patrons and the team. Between busy periods, you’ll update logs, confirm upcoming coverage, and assist with end-of-day wrap-up so the next shift starts organized and ready.
